Tertiary Colour Tablets

The Tertiary Colour Tablets introduce children to different shades of colour, offering a comprehensive exploration of colour gradation from light to dark. This material provides the final step in colour differentiation, helping children refine their chromatic sense by exploring subtle variations in the shades of nine core colours.

1. 63 Rectangular Tablets: o The set includes 63 tablets with 7 shades for each of the 9 colours. o The shades range from light to dark, allowing children to observe how the intensity of the colour changes.

2. 9 Core Colours:

o The set introduces children to 9 essential colours, each presented in a gradation of shades. o The colours included are red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple, brown, pink, and grey. 3. Wooden Construction: o The tablets are made from smooth, durable wood, providing a pleasant tactile experience and encouraging fine motor development.

4. Colour Gradation: o The Tertiary Colour Tablets focus on colour gradation, providing an in-depth exploration of how each colour can be represented in a series of shades. This helps children refine their visual perception and chromatic sense.

5. Educational Value: o This material enhances children’s understanding of colour relationships, helping them differentiate between light and dark shades, and introducing them to the concept of tone and shade within each colour.

6. Storage and Organization: o The tablets come stored in a well-crafted wooden box, promoting organization and independence in keeping materials tidy.

1. Refined Colour Differentiation: o By working with the Tertiary Colour Tablets, children learn to distinguish between subtle differences in shade, improving their chromatic sense and colour discrimination. 2. Visual Perception Development: o The material encourages the development of visual discrimination, as children observe and sort tablets according to their shade intensity. This activity sharpens their visual acuity and improves their attention to detail.

3. Fine Motor and Cognitive Skills: o Handling and arranging the tablets helps children develop fine motor coordination, while the task of sorting and organizing encourages cognitive skills like classification and sequencing.

4. Understanding of Colour Relationships: o Children gain an understanding of how colours are related to one another and how subtle shifts in tone can dramatically change a colour’s appearance. This is essential for later learning in art, design, and colour theory.

5. Artistic Exploration:

o The Tertiary Colour Tablets provide a foundation for artistic exploration, enabling children to experiment with how colours blend, transition, and create depth when used in art projects.

1. Gradation Matching: o Children can start by matching the shades of a particular colour, arranging the tablets from light to dark, or vice versa.

2. Colour Sorting: o Encourage children to group the tablets by colour family (e.g., all shades of red together, all shades of yellow together). This helps reinforce colour recognition and classification skills. 3. Exploring Shades: o Ask children to describe the differences in shade (e.g., Which shade is lighter? Which is darker?). This activity builds language skills and promotes descriptive vocabulary related to colour.

4. Creative Art Projects: o Incorporate the Tertiary Colour Tablets into art activities where children can use the shades for painting, colouring, or creating gradients in their artwork.

The Tertiary Colour Tablets are a powerful tool for introducing children to the nuances of colour gradation. This material allows children to explore the range of shades within each of the core colours, helping them develop a refined sense of colour perception and a deeper understanding of how colours relate to one another. By focusing on shades from light to dark, the Tertiary Colour Tablets provide a final step in the progression of colour differentiation, preparing children for further artistic and design-related tasks. With their high-quality wooden construction and easy-to-use design, these tablets will continue to provide valuable educational opportunities for children as they refine their visual discrimination and fine motor skills.
