Description :-
The Thermic Bottles set is a Montessori material designed to refine a child's ability to sense temperature differences through tactile exploration. The set consists of eight identical chrome-
plated copper bottles, which are visually indistinguishable from one another to prevent children from matching them based on appearance alone. The bottles are designed with screw-on tops and placed in a wooden tray for organization. The bottles themselves are filled with water at varying temperatures, offering a range of tactile experiences from very hot to very cold.

  • The primary objective of the Thermic Bottles exercise is to help children develop sensory awareness of temperature. By engaging in activities that involve pairing and grading the bottles, the child
learns to differentiate between various temperature sensations. The exercises refine the child's thermic sense — the ability to perceive and identify different temperatures through touch.

  • 1. Pairing Exercise: The child is encouraged to feel each bottle and pair those that have the same temperature, developing their ability to distinguish between similar levels of heat.
    2. Grading Exercise: In this activity, the child arranges the bottles in a sequence from the coolest to the warmest, or vice versa, according to how each feels. This helps the child practice not just identification but also gradual recognition of temperature changes.
    3. Focus on Tactile Sensation: The child relies purely on the sense of touch to experience temperature differences, which helps to strengthen their awareness of sensory input and develop a deeper understanding of physical properties like heat conduction.

By working with the Thermic Bottles, children gain a better understanding of how heat is perceived, developing skills that are foundational to both sensory awareness and later scientific concepts. The use of identical bottles encourages focus on temperature alone, without visual distractions, allowing
for a pure sensory experience that helps to refine the child's ability to discriminate subtle
    differences in temperature.
