Material and Design: The cards have sandpaper letters attached to them, which children can feel as they trace each letter. This tactile experience helps children internalize the shape and form of each letter.
Color Coding: The consonants are typically printed on pink cards, while blue cards are used for the vowels. This color differentiation not only makes it easier to recognize the letters but also supports phonetic awareness by categorizing consonants and vowels.
Storage: The set is usually housed in an attractive wooden box, keeping the cards organized and adding a charming, natural aesthetic to any learning environment. This box makes it easy for children to access the letters and keep them tidy after use.
In summary, sandpaper letters provide a hands-on learning experience that strengthens letter recognition, sound associations, and writing skills, making it an excellent resource for early literacy development.
