Description :-
The Object Permanence Bag is a Montessori material designed to help children refine their tactile
sense and practice object recognition in a hands-on way. The set typically includes a bag that is
both attractive and mysterious, filled with approximately 10 objects that are very different from
each other in both texture and shape. The objects included might be everyday items such as:
A key
A cotton ball
A pine cone
A button
A small basket
Other varied items, such as a spoon, feather, rock, shell, or wooden block.
The bag is often designed to be visually appealing, with colors or textures that make it intriguing to
the child. The child reaches into the bag without looking and uses only their sense of touch to
identify each object inside.
Mystery Bag
The objective of this exercise is to help the child further develop their tactile sense by recognizing
and identifying objects using touch alone. This activity also promotes the development of the
child’s language skills by reinforcing their knowledge of the names of the objects they already know,
as well as improving their concentration, memory, and discrimination skills.
Tactile Discrimination: The child practices distinguishing between objects of varying
textures, shapes, and sizes, developing their tactile perception.
Object Recognition and Naming: Since the child is assumed to already know the names of
the objects, the objective is to reinforce their ability to identify these items without relying
on sight. This exercise strengthens visual and verbal memory.
Concentration: The child needs to focus on the sensation of each object in order to
recognize it, which helps them build attention span and concentration skills.
